Jozi's veins
An audio visual piece i entered into the "My town 2010" short documentary competition. It was chosen as one of the finalists. The competition's brief was open. You could show your town any way you wanted to. The only restriction was that it had to be 3 min long. I chose Johannesburg's streets as my subject and focus of exploration. The audio track is done by a friend of mine - Johan Botha. The song is, amongst other things, about optimism in spite of challenging circumstances. Something many a joburger can relate to.

For South Africa and her beautiful people
A warm thank you to each and every familiar or not so familiar face who freely gave of their time and heart to help me complete this project in a week. Thank you to Lorraine, Melina, Thuli and Chanelle at Bouffant for their production expertise. To Blade for the grade. To Frequency for the sound mixing and levels. To Nicole Biondi for the voice-over. To Chris Kreef and Les Javan for the soundtrack. To Happy for assisting me so emphatically. To Jeana for telling me about the amazing proudly South African dresses. To Bruno and Nashville for allowing us to shoot these authentic garments. To Shani, Kiara, Sian, Erin, Jeana, Verena, Bryony, Wilma, Elizma and Linel for just being yourselves and wearing them. To Mama Temba's for the location. To Bruno for your help in dressing the girls. To all of my close and extended family who joined in the fun - Anina, Michelle, Elmie, Oom Ed, Tannie Elsie, Sylvia, Ma, Pa, Kaiser, Levi, Bumble, Tinkerbell, Suzanne, Jade and Joe. To August and Roelof. To my brother Tom who lend me his Bakkie to go pickup the dresses and their accessories. And last but least, to Draft FCB for the opportunity.
